18 Random Facts About Me
While in-person ice-breakers can sometimes feel awkward, digital ice-breakers can offer fun insight into the person behind the screen. With that being said, here are 18 random (and hopefully interesting) facts about me.
- 18 is my favorite number and has been since I was a little girl.
- I’m the dog mom to a Siberian Husky and a Border Collie/Golden Retriever mix.
- The Cam Jansen book series started my interest in reading, but Nancy Drew solidified my love for the hobby as a child. These days you’ll mostly find me reading romantasy novels.
- Scooby Doo, Where Are You (1969) is my all-time favorite cartoon and I hope and pray my daughter loves it so I can binge-watch it throughout her childhood.
- I love the taste of coffee (when it’s overloaded with sugar and cream) but drank so much in high school and college that my body became intolerant. Now I drink matcha, chai, or herbal tea.
- I’ve always dreamt of becoming a mom, but parenting has made me feel more fulfilled than I ever imagined and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
- I met my husband while on study abroad in Scotland, and we bonded over our shared love of traveling.
- I graduated with a minor in organizational leadership and I use it daily to lead me, myself, and I.
- I consider myself to be both a creative dabbler and a serial procrastinator. I’m guilty of having a craft closet filled to the brim. I also have many partially completed projects that I swear I’ll get to one day.
- My favorite food is a toss-up between ice cream, steak, and sushi.
- I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and love the mountains and the fall leaves.
- One of my bucket list goals is to go scuba diving and explore a sunken ship.
- My favorite season is summer, but fall would come in a close 2nd place. With this in mind, I love the sun and would take warm weather over cold any day.
- I’m a huge fan of thrift shopping because I enjoy finding unique pieces, saving things from the landfill, and getting a good deal!
- Most Disney movies make me cry, and it’s only gotten worse since I became a mom. Similarly, I try to avoid watching movies with animals because the pet dying pretty much guarantees I’ll bawl my eyes out.
- I once had to sit on a train hallway floor for a 4-hour journey because it was overbooked. Still, I remember it fondly because it gave the trip a bit more intrigue.
- Call me mainstream, but I’m a fan of Taylor Swift, pumpkin spice, long walks on the beach, fuzzy blankets, and binge-watching Netflix.
- Last, but certainly not least, I have one sibling, but dream of having a large family of my own. If you have a large family feel free to share your pros and cons of the experience!
If you’ve made it to the end, I appreciate the enthusiasm and interest. If you’re curious to learn more I recommend checking out my birth story.
